Huawei has an incredible smartwatch family, but no one is as magnificent as the five-year-old Watch GT Runner, and it seems the company is in full swing to bring back this wearable device with extraordinary upgrades and appearance changes.
The Watch GT Runner debuted in 2021 at the Huawei Smart Life Product Launch event. As the name suggests, the company made this wearable for runners with significant features like an AI running coach, a lightweight design, and GPS tracking.
A solid ruffle face with a bold strap gives the perfect sports vibe to users. It was one of the best companions for runners or those who love to live life at full pace!
Everything was going smoothly when one day, Huawei decided to end the lives of two excellent smartwatches: Watch GT Cyber and GT Runner. The company didn’t reveal the reason behind this discontinuation. Though netizens speculated that a limited user base of these wearables could be the major cause.
But it seems Huawei is ready to revive this story by bringing back a new Runner smartwatch. The company is in the news for shaking hands with a professional running team – DSM Firmenich to launch a special wearable in the future.
Of course, Huawei hasn’t shed light on this new smartwatch yet. Though it has confirmed that a “Runner” smartwatch is in the works and will soon make its debut.
CMO of Huawei Consumer Business Group Unit – Alex Huang recently announced their partnership with DSM Firmenich. During a media talk, he mentioned:
“By combining Huawei’s expertise in smart wearable technology with the team’s deep performance knowledge, we aim to deliver meaningful insights that benefit not only elite athletes, but runners of all levels around the world.”
