Just like its predecessor, Honor Magic 9 will continue to crush 2026 top-end flagships in the battery game. The latest information on this matter suggests that the company is testing two types of higher-density batteries for the upcoming Magic lineup.
Weibo tipster @SmartPikachu has shed some light on the Honor Magic 9 series battery capacity. The company is seemingly testing two new cell packs for the flagship.
According to the leak, Honor is evaluating 8000mAh and 9000mAh batteries for the Magic 9 series. None of these is confirmed yet. Though there can be two possibilities:
Firstly, the company could use any one of these batteries for the Magic 9 models while leaving another one for a different handset. Secondly, the standard Magic 9 may feature an 8000mAh pack, while the Pro can debut with a 9000mAh cell.
Magic 8 smartphones launched with a 7200mAh battery. Compared to all the 2025 flagship phones, Honor Magic 8 and Xiaomi 17 models were the only devices to pack the highest-energy-density batteries.

Perhaps this time, Honor may keep the “biggest battery capacity flagship” tag to itself, surpassing all other phone vendors, including Xiaomi and its smartphones.
