Amid flagship phones like Pura 90 series and X2 foldable preparations, Huawei is now making headlines for a mysterious mid-range phone that may debut with a monstrous 8000mAh battery pack. If true, it will be the first time the OEM has a device with a larger cell capacity.
Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation has just found that Huawei has a new mid-range phone in the pipeline with an 8000mAh battery. Whether it’s the next-generation Nova series model or any other device is currently uncertain.
The tipster added that the new phone will feature a Kirin 8 series chipset, but probably with no 5G network capability. It may use a 6.84-inch LTPS large flat screen with a signature + premium appearance. The device can cost nearly 2000 yuan.
Based on these details, it seems the mysterious Huawei device could be an Enjoy smartphone. The Chinese OEM hasn’t introduced any newbies to the Enjoy family in the past few months. Perhaps it could have been planning to launch soon!

Moreover, Nova phones are now grouped in the mid-to-high-end class rather than just mid-rangers. The devices won’t feature a 4G chipset after several Kirin upgrades, not even the standard one.
Therefore, it seems the mysterious model might belong to the Enjoy line. Another hint is the battery. Huawei hasn’t used such big cell packs for its flagship or sub-flagship smartphones yet. That move seems to take a lot of time to materialize.
Apart from the battery, display, and pricing details, the tipster hasn’t shed light on any other specifications of the new handset. But if it’s an Enjoy device, it will likely debut in the first half of this year.
For now, we have to wait for more revelations on this matter and take this input with a grain of salt.
