China is on the path to an AI breakthrough in the next five years with a $295 billion strategy, and Huawei chips can prove very helpful in this regard. As per a recent report, the Beijing Administration is planning to rely heavily on native suppliers for “bigger AI achievements”.
Bloomberg reported that China is up with a funding of $295 billion for a big AI infrastructure strategy using 80% of domestic components, like Huawei Ascend chips.
The Beijing Administration will work on this project for five years. During this period, the country aims to fuel AI achievements and expand it at the global level.
US restrictions have not only affected China’s semiconductor industry but also prohibited the country from excelling in the cutting-edge AI technology race.
With the help of top tech giants such as Huawei, Alibaba, Baidu, and more, the country has picked up pace in this segment. Now, China is marching forward to further enhance its AI sector and overshadow the US with game-changing tech solutions.
The new AI strategy includes data center deployment in the country, for which the Beijing administration will rely on local suppliers, including Huawei, for at least 80% of the tech components.
Huawei’s Ascend chipsets are reaching new heights of improvement and are considered a good alternative to Nvidia semiconductors. Besides, the firm has revealed its upcoming AI chip plans that align well with China’s latest AI strategy.

Instead of depending on Nvidia and other foreign tech products, China will now back up the developing countries and will continue to work on its self-reliant AI goals.
