Huawei will unveil a new software iteration for its smartphones and tablets at the HDC 2026 event. At the same time, it can also offer premium JetBrains software features to its HarmonyOS PCs for the first time, making them far more efficient.
According to the HarmonyOS PC Developer Forum, the JetBrains IDEs will likely debut on Huawei’s OS-running PCs at the Developer Conference (June 13, 2026).
JetBrains is a global software and developer tools firm that operates sales as well as R&D centers worldwide. It owns IntelliJ IDEA and PyCharm with a million-user base.
The JetBrains IDEs refer to premium software applications used by laptop or PC programmers to write, test, and debug code. These applications act as a smart assistant that auto-completes code, points out errors, and helps in organizing projects.
For instance, IntelliJ IDEA is a flagship IDE (Integrated Development Environment). It is primarily used for Java and Kotlin. PyCharm is mainly for Python.
It seems these JetBrains IDEs are now coming to the HarmonyOS PCs with some premium software features at the HDC 2026. Notably, the global firm has already released its popular IDEs for other PC operating systems. These are as follows:
- Windows
- macOS
- Linux
Up to this point, JetBrains hasn’t launched any native IDEs or versions for HarmonyOS PCs. But based on the image, it looks like Huawei has joined hands with the respective software company and will bring its top-notch features to its MateBooks.
