Huawei Mate 80 Air is picking up pace in the leaks section for its key specs, and new information suggests that it will use a quad-curved panel instead of a flat screen. The surfaced details contradict a previous rumor about the Airy phone.
Weibo tipster @SmartPikachu reported that Huawei will equip an equal-depth quad-curved screen to the upcoming Mate 80 Air device and not a flat display panel.
Earlier, the same tipster mentioned that the new-generation Mate Air will ditch the four-sided curved screen for a flat one. At that time, the tech maker began using flat display panels for all of its devices, including flagship and cost-effective models.

A similar move was expected for the upcoming Air handset as well. But looks like Huawei may continue the same quad-curved screen for its ultra-slim Mate phone, making it stand out in the market over other flat display-based smartphones.
Quad-curved screens have a curvy surface from all four edges – top, bottom, left, and right. It gives an immersive, nearly bezel-free appearance to the entire handset. If you are a gamer or movie lover, then such screens can boost your experience.
The tipster added that the Mate 80 Air will use the same 7-inch screen and an upgraded HarmonyOS version. You can read the chip details for the device HERE.
Last year, the company unveiled its first Airy device with a massive 7.0-inch LTPO OLED quad-curved display. It supports 1320 x 2760 pixel resolution, 437 PPI, a 120Hz refresh rate, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and 4000 nits peak brightness.
Whether Huawei will level up the brightness game for the new-generation Air smartphone or keep it the same as the screen size would be worth looking forward to.
