2026 Huawei MateBook Fold PC is in the making and a new leak has brought chip details of this device. According to the information, the company might use an improved Kirin X9 series processor for the upcoming folding PC with enhanced performance.
DigitalChatStation reported many new upgrades for the Huawei MateBook Fold PC 2026 variant, one of which is the chip. The tipster didn’t disclose the exact name of the SoC, but suggested that the OEM is up with the Kirin X9 series for the model.
Up to this point, Huawei has unveiled only two Kirin PC chips. The first one is the X90, while the second one is the X90A. Both processors differ slightly in terms of core configuration.
For comparison, the X90A processor is an inferior version of the X90. The latter is considered a high-performance edition, while the former is used to take on basic tasks.
Kirin X90A: The chipset has 8 cores and 16 threads. Its core configuration has four cores of 1.80GHz, six cores of 1.85GHz, and 6 cores of 2.07GHz with Maleoon 910B GPU.
Kirin X90: On the other hand, the high-end version has 10 cores and nearly 20 threads. Unlike the A-tagged variant, divided into three segments, the X90 has 8 cores of 2.31GHz and 12 cores of 2.05GHz. It uses a Maleoon 916 GPU.
X90 processor has even qualified for the Level II security and reliability certificate with amazing reviews for core tech autonomy, supply chain security, and intellectual property compliance, and meets Chinese security standards.
As mentioned, it is unclear what new chip Huawei will use for the second-gen MateBook Folding PC. However, the company is in the news for developing a new computer-dedicated chipset and may unveil it with the upcoming models.
Hence, we can find more clues on this matter in the coming weeks.
