Huawei has given a dynamic kickstart to this day by announcing the most anticipated – Mate 80 Wind Edition, featuring active cooling fan technology. Although the device looks similar to the original model, the upgrades lie in the internal segment.
Mate 80 Fan version has been making a lot of noise since last year. The device was expected to go official alongside the other Mate 80 handsets in November 2025.
But Huawei postponed the device’s launch and unveiled only four Mate 80 models. Looks like the company has got the right time to introduce its crazy creation.
The company has announced the Huawei Mate 80 Wind Chaser Edition as “Fengchi Edition”. It further said that the device will be open for pre-orders starting today.
Looking at the official poster, the Wind Chaser variant is identical to the main version. But a closer view shows a new wide rim surrounding the camera module. The highlight of this rim is that it has vents (small dots) throughout the layout.
These small dots suggest the implementation of the cooling fan inside the camera bump of the device. Eventually, this mechanism will prevent heat generation and enhance the overall performance even under intense or highly productive operations.

Another difference appears in the rear camera arrangement. The original position of the super telephoto lens in the Mate 80 Pro Max is now given to the fan tech.
Huawei hasn’t detailed the new Mate 80 Pro Max Fan Edition. Though it has announced the pre-order activity for this model, starting at 12:08. At that time, we might gain more information regarding its RAM + storage variants and color options.
