Apart from the new-gen digital series, Honor is working on the Magic 9 flagship and this time the highlight could be video features. If true, the upcoming models will stand out among many top-tier phones in terms of video shooting capabilities.
While Android smartphones are known for having many better features over iPhones, one segment where they lag is camera enhancements and video recording.
Though it looks like the 2026 Magic flagship will address this problem. A Weibo tipster noted that the Honor Magic 9 series will bring smarter and better video features.
DirectorShiGuan mentioned that Magic 9 smartphones will use an ARRI co-branded camera setup. Even though this is not a surprise, the main point of this leak is that Honor will further improve the video shooting aspects with new phones.
ARRI is a premier German producer of high-end motion picture cameras, lenses, lighting systems, and post-production equipment. During the MWC26 event, Honor has introduced ARRI as its new imaging partner for ROBOT PHONE.
Though it seems things won’t be limited to the iconic robot creation!

Honor will use ARRI’s incredible video functionalities for the Magic 9 series phones. The tipster added that even though these features won’t be as good as the ROBOT PHONE, they will break the inherent impression of Android video shooting.
For the launch timeline, the tipster stated that the Magic 9 series will be coming in October. And it will likely amaze everyone with its cutting-edge imaging technologies this time.
Apart from the camera setup, the Magic 9 smartphone could be the first in the industry to equip the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (2nm) chipset. The company hasn’t uttered any words on the upcoming lineup yet. Though we can expect major upgrades with it.
