After the design, the Huawei Pura 90 series is now in talks for its Kirin 5G chipsets. The company will likely use three distinct mobile processors for its upcoming flagship, taking the overall device’s system performance to a whole new level.
Weibo tipster @SuperDimensional shared three Kirin chip names. While he hasn’t disclosed the purpose of the processors, netizens speculated them to be the Huawei Pura 90 series chipsets.
Based on the latest leak, the 2026 Pura smartphones can feature three 5G mobile SoCs: Kirin 9020 for the vanilla version, Kirin 9030 for the Pro model, and the Kirin 9030 Pro for the rumored PRO MAX handset.
Huawei introduced the Kirin 9020 chip with the Mate 70 series in 2024. Meanwhile, the power-packed Kirin 9030 series debuted last year with the Mate 80 phones.

1. Kirin 9020: CPU configuration includes 1 large core of 2.50GHz + 3 medium cores of 2.15GHz + 4 small cores of 1.60GHz. Offers 30-40% improved performance and power efficiency over previous versions.
2. Kirin 9030: CPU configuration includes 2 large cores of 2.75GHz + 4 medium cores of 1.72GHz + 6 small cores of 2.27GHz. It uses Maleoon 935 GPU, and offers 35% improvement in overall system performance.
3. Kirin 9030 Pro: CPU configuration includes 2 cores of 2.75GHz + 4 medium cores of 1.72GHz + 8 small cores of 2.27GHz (two cores more than the standard version). It delivers 42% boost in certain benchmarks.
If the current details are accurate, the Pura 90 series phones will deliver a significant performance boost over the previous-generation models. For comparison, the Pura 80 Pro and Ultra models run on the Kirin 9020 chip while the standard one debuts with a new processor – Kirin 9010S.
Simply put, the upcoming Pura 90 base model will provide Pura 80 Pro and Ultra-level performance to users. On the other hand, the high-end variants will expand the benchmark to a greater extent.
