Huawei Pura X “MAX” is getting attention for its interesting name and a new leak is now talking about its Kirin 5G performance upgrade. Being a MAX foldable, it will likely use a flagship processor to boost its efficiency in every aspect! So, any guesses?
As noted by @SuperDimensional on Weibo, the Huawei Pura X Max can use the Kirin 9030 Pro 5G. Since it can debut as a top clamshell product, there is a huge possibility that it may equip the latest processor.
Kirin 9030 Pro 5G came into existence last year with the Huawei Mate 80 Pro series. The chipset is slightly more powerful than its standard sibling in some aspects.
It’s unclear if the company will use the new chipset for the upcoming foldable or jump to an optimized version. Though if the current leak is accurate, the Pura X Max will deliver far improved performance over the previous-generation model.

For comparison, the Pura X runs on the Kirin 9020 chipset coupled with the Maleoon 920 GPU. The 7nm mobile processor has the following CPU configuration:
- 1 large Taishan core @ 2.5GHz
- 3 medium Taishan cores @ 2.15GHz
- 4 small Cortex-A510 cores @ 1.53GHz
On the other hand, the Kirin 9030 Pro features 9 cores and a 14-thread architecture. It contains two large cores of 2.75GHz, four medium cores of 1.72GHz, and eight cores of 2.27GHz. The chip is further coupled with the Maleoon 935 GPU.
Apart from the upcoming Pura X foldable, news suggests that the Pura 90 Pro Max will also feature the Kirin 9030 Pro 5G processor. You can check the chipset details for the other Pura 90 smartphones HERE.
Let’s wait for a few more days to see if the latest leak aligns with the official details of the approaching Pura phones or not!
