Huawei has officially announced the Pura 90 series launch event and revealed the phone’s first look with new changes, especially the new gradient color. Here’s everything we’ve explored on the design side. Take a look at Huawei Pura 90 Pro and Pro Max in different colors.
Front
The phone brings a full-view display with tiny bezels around all corners. The display is looking immersive, and there’s a selfie-camera hole on the top.
Frame
The biggest change in this year’s Pura model is the flat frame, with premium finishing. And metal volume and power keys are placed on the right side.
The frame was used to be curved in the past generation, but the new design aligns with a more modern approach rather than sticking to the old school scheme.
Camera
The rear camera island is triangular and consists of three lenses on the Pro and Pro Max models. These are wide, ultra-wide, and a periscope telephoto lens. There’s also an XMAGE branding on the camera bump, suggesting more improvements to the post-capture photo processing. The past generation had dual-switchable telephoto cameras on the Ultra model, but that phone was not announced along with these two variants.
Gradient
Now comes the best part, the color scheme.
The Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max comes in five colors – Obsidian Black, Dawn Gold, Purple Sunset, Orange Ocean, and Emerald Lake. The Pro version has four: Mulberry Black, Coconut White, Orange soda, and Pink Guava.

Some of these color schemes has graident color combination, which was first introduced by the Huawei P20 Pro. One of the best-selling P-series devices in the global market.
Huawei was the first to popularize gradient smartphone colors in the mass market. Afterwards, it opted for a simpler color scheme with clear shades and textures. The first look at the Huawei Pura 90 series shows that the company is still trying to find new ways to offer attractive design choices for consumers.
