Huawei Pura X Max is officially launched, making it the first-ever wide-foldable phone. With this device, Huawei has left the market giants like Samsung and Apple behind in this product category.
The race for innovative foldables is getting intense each year, and Huawei continues to launch new devices to set a new bar of innovation. It was the first to launch the outward fold, the first triple-fold, a notebook-sized foldable device. Adding to the list, the phone maker now has the first wide-folding phone.
This isn’t Huawei’s first wide-fold; in fact, its Pura X from last year had this form factor, but it was more of a vertical fold. This year, the company has increased the width and added that missing wide look.

This is a premium foldable; the first look gives you a hand passport-like feeling, but a digital one. It has a new hinge customized for stability while opening and closing the two sides with its sheer width.
The rear side has a camera deco featuring a ceramic bezel for a premium texture. It comes in five colors – Black, White, Blue, Gold, and Orange.

Display
The screen design is inspired by the A4 paper. The cover display measures 5.4 inches with 3500 nits peak brightness. Users can use it to perform any task inside the phone without opening the main screen.
Its 7.7-inch internal screen (3000 nits) is what makes the Pura X Max a wide foldable. This is larger than the Pura X’s 6.3-inch screen and provides an optimum viewing experience. The pixel quality and brightness help users to operate the phone in broad daylight. While LTPO adaptive refresh rate and high-touch sampling rate enable a smooth user interface and fast touch response, respectively.

Similar to other foldables, the Pura X Max supports multi-tasking and multi-media consumption, scrolling social media, playing games, and reading online.
Camera
This wide-foldable brings a 50MP main camera with variable aperture ranging from f1.4 to f4.0 and optical image stabilization (OIS). The camera setup includes a 50MP periscope zoom with f2.2 large aperture and a 12.5MP ultra-wide angle camera. These three are facilitated with a second-generation true-to-color camera.

Battery
Huawei Pura X Max is launched with a 5,300mAh battery capacity, and it can be recharged with a 66W wired charger, shipping with the device. It also supports 40W wireless charging and 7.5W wireless reverse charging.
Stylus support
Huawei has announced that Pura X Max brings M-Pen 3 Mini stylus support. With this, the stylus supports an air mouse button, a writing button, and recognizes gestures. Users can scroll the screen with the Pen, which is highly optimized for the foldable’s HarmonyOS 6.0 operating system. With that said, it comes with a dedicated drawing app for those who want to get the full stylus experience.
Performance
Huawei Pura X Max is powered by Kirin 9030 Pro chipset, bringign 25% CPU performance improvements, 40% GPU, and 70% NPU upgrades compared to Kirin 9020 chip used in Pura X.
