Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max debuts with several surprising features, and one of its excellent traits is the low-light camera performance. While showing the flagship, the company revealed how the new phone can top Apple’s top-tier models in photography!
During the Pura 90 series launch event, Huawei shared sample images of the new PRO MAX model captured in 4x, 8x, and even 20x zoom levels. At the same time, it compared these images with the ones photographed by the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
And the results are really surprising!
Richard Yu, the Huawei Consumer Business Group Chairman, said that the Pura 90 Pro Max offers 5 times better low-light camera performance over iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The credit for this achievement goes to the industry’s first 200MP RYYB telephoto lens, which allows for five times the light intake of Apple’s high-end flagship phone.
Looking into the shots, every image appears clearer and brighter than the ones captured by the iPhone 17 Pro Max. You can also check these images below.

On the greener side, Pura 90 Pro Max has an external 3.3x teleconverter that offers excellent results even at 54x zoom with an equivalent focal length of 1296mm. Thus, it brings clear stage photography even from a seat at the top of a concert venue.
Pura 90 Pro Max uses an ultra-large 200MP telephoto, which is capable of two main imaging characteristics:
- Superior telephoto macro performance
- Producing clear and transparent images even when zoomed in.
Besides, the new-generation XMAGE Smart Image Capture technology will constantly offer online guidance during shooting, and various effects to enhance the atmosphere. From shooting to final product, it’s all just a click away to generate a masterpiece.
