Huawei Pura X Max has started a new trend in the smartphone industry – wide foldable and amid challengers like Apple and Samsung, Honor began gathering spotlight in this category. Perhaps the OEM may soon join the race with its creation.
Yes, Honor has been linked to a whole new direction in the folding phone line – wide screen foldable. While Apple and Samsung have time to introduce their ultimate models against the Pura champion, the Magic phone maker is also getting prepared.
Wide-screen foldable form factor came into light last year when Huawei Pura X made its debut. The ultimate design, a perfect tablet-like interface, and compact folding impressed not only consumers but competing brands as well.
Later that year, Apple’s ambitions for its first iPhone Fold started surfacing on the internet. Rumors suggested that the device would follow a wide-screen form factor – just like the Pura X. To counter this, Huawei launched the Pura X Max in 2026.

Though the latest inputs speculate that Honor is coming to this wide folding phone competition with a new handset. It is seemingly testing such a model with a 2nm chipset – Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series.
Although here is the twist! Instead of launching a wider foldable alongside Samsung and Apple, Honor will bring its creation probably by the first half of next year.
Honor, perhaps, believes in evaluating the market response to the newly launched handsets and then going with the experiment. No doubt, it will follow the same trick for the wide-foldable smartphone as well.
For the new device, the company may adopt a 7.6-inch main screen and a 5.5-inch cover display. It may weigh 200 grams and feature a 50MP camera on the back. Other inputs are under wraps for the time being.
