Huawei has just launched the world’s slimmest tablet device – the MatePad Pro Max on the global stage, embarking on a thunder among the top tablet titans like Honor, Samsung, and Apple. But looks like that’s not the only surprise this year, as the Huawei MatePad Mini 2 has started making buzz for a better design and bigger battery!
Last year, Huawei introduced an 8.8-inch MatePad tablet in the market, challenging the iPad Mini directly. From a thin design to a bigger display and a powerful battery, the device excelled over Apple’s creation in many ways!

Following the success of the first small MatePad tablet, the company has started working on the Huawei MatePad Mini 2 with a slimmer design and a larger battery capacity.
MatePad Mini 2 will debut as a premium compact device in the tablet market with a top-notch appearance as well as avant-garde specifications. While it may equip the existing Kirin 5G chips, the overall performance would be better than its predecessor.

Expected Specs
As per leaked information, the second-gen MatePad Mini can use an extremely narrow OLED screen with the thinnest bezels ever. In terms of chipset, the company may use a Kirin 9030 or 9030S mobile SoC – accelerating the performance to a whole new level.
Regarding the battery, Huawei could adopt a 7000mAh cell pack for the new mini tablet. The company is already testing many new and higher-energy density batteries for its future flagship models. Perhaps one of these options may show up with the MatePad Mini 2 alongside 100W wired fast charging capability.
Some rumors have it that the tech giant is planning to integrate a multispectral camera to its tablet lineup – starting with the Chinese MatePad Pro Max variant. If true, it would be a great shift in tablet imaging solutions.
The MatePad Mini debuted last year in September. Whether Huawei will follow the same timeline for the second-gen tablet is worth looking at!
