China to invest $295 billion for AI evolution in next 5 years

China is planning a $295 billion fund to fuel its AI evolution. While the US tech giant NVIDIA has joined hands with the South Korean companies to further advance its artificial intelligence technologies, the Beijing administration is also coming up with its own strategies in this aspect.

According to a new Bloomberg report, China has drafted a five-year evolution plan to build AI-powered data centers nationwide by investing $295 billion (2 trillion yuan).

It is worth mentioning that the news appeared following the US firms like Nvidia and others spending over $700 billion in 2026 to elevate their AI evolution.

National Development and Reform Commission is one of the key authorities to prepare a blueprint for this plan, where China will form a network of interconnected computing hubs. These hubs will rely on native suppliers for 80% of tech components.

This move will help China to expand its AI infrastructure and take over new technologies like quantum computing and humanoid robots. Thus, it will become capable of challenging the cutting-edge US solutions in the intensifying tech competition.

Under this plan, firms like China Mobile and China Telecom will manage the data centers and ensure their interconnectivity. Meanwhile, Huawei will be a key supplier of AI semiconductors in this new strategy.

After introducing breakthroughs in chip technology recently, China is now targeting more advancements in the AI field. And the new plan seems to be an important part of this aspect. Let’s wait and see what else the country adds to this plan in the future.
