Huawei Mate 90 series can bring five models including fan edition

Huawei Mate 90 series could bring not four but up to five models together this year, including a fan version. While a similar move was expected last year, the company unveiled the WIND EDITION this March. However, that may not be the case with the 2026 Mate lineup.

Weibo tipster @SmartPikachu said that a new-generation FAN Edition smartphone is in the works along with 3D Liquid-Cooling thermal conduction. The device is expected to launch in September this year.

In the post, the tipster also tagged the Huawei Mate 90 series, implying that the new fan edition phone will debut alongside the other four top-end models of the series.

Last year, the company was expected to launch a cooling fan-powered phone with the Mate 80 series. But due to the complex design, the firm dropped the idea of launching the new creation with the other flagship Mate handsets.

Thereafter, Huawei unveiled the Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition besides the Enjoy 90 series in March this year. The device gained a lot of attention in the market right after its launch due to its interesting cooling technology and an active fan solution.

Not four, five Mate 90 models?

But this time, the Huawei Mate 90 series could bring five models, including Standard, Pro, Pro Max, RS Ultimate, and WIND EDITION. Though things will continue to remain a mystery unless the company announces the flagship officially.

Huawei Mate 90 series can feature liquid-cooled 3D thermal management. It is generally a passive cooling system that transfers intense heat away from the chipset through a small amount of liquid that turns into gas. The OEM is also testing some other high-end technologies in this aspect. Though what will become official is unclear.
