Huawei foldable PC 2026 leak hints at a major spec downgrade

Huawei is working on the 2026 MateBook Foldable PC variant, and it looks like this new notebook could bring a notable spec downgrade over the previous-generation model. A new leak is already shedding light on the upcoming folding laptop.

According to the information via @FixedFocus, the 2026 Huawei MateBook Foldable PC can feature a storage spec downgrade. While the entire laptop is expected to undergo significant changes from its predecessor, the storage part may remain intact.

For comparison, the first-gen Huawei MateBook Fold PC Ultimate Design debuted in May last year with two high-capacity storage configurations: 1TB and 2TB.

The company utilized high-speed NVMe SSDs in its folding laptop, ensuring fast boot times, seamless handling of large files, and other creative projects without any issues.

Since the storage prices are experiencing a massive, sustained surge in the market, there is a chance that Huawei may downgrade storage specs for the upcoming foldable notebook. The company is also on the verge of adjusting its device prices.

Besides the MateBook Fold, the tipster mentioned in the comments section that there is a “mini version” of the new folding computer. Both the Ultimate Design model and the Mini variant are under research at the moment and may debut this year.

Per the leak, Huawei could launch two folding PCs in 2026. One will belong to the company’s luxurious family – ULTIMATE DESIGN, while the other one can be a slightly affordable version. Things are still uncertain and will be clear later.
