Huawei is one of the leading smartphone companies in China and every new Mate phone series gets a lot of attention – the current example is the Mate 80 lineup with sales hitting the 7 million mark. Looks like the flagship is trying to reach the 10 million milestone earlier than expected.
According to the sales report of RDObservation, the Huawei Mate 80 series is still showing strong performance in the market and shipped nearly 7 million units.
The Chinese tech giant has sold 6.9704 million units as of the 24th week of 2026 (June 8 – June 14). Following new details, some netizens said that the Mate 80 smartphones have already exceeded 7 million units to date.
Some other people in the comments section noted that since rumors suggest only three months for the Mate 90 series launch, there is a chance that the Mate 80 handsets could reach up to 9 million units in the remaining time.
Huawei has recently mentioned that it will adjust the pricing of its devices starting from July 1st. Whether this will count the upcoming new models or the existing ones as well is unclear at present, but if it happens, things may go wrong in sales.

Netizens speculated that with subsequent price reductions and inventory clearance measures, the Huawei Mate 80 smartphone series could potentially exceed the 10 million goal.
Mate 80 debuted as the most powerful Mate in Huawei’s history. It not only brought the first PRO MAX smartphone of the company, but also gave space to two Kirin chips – 9030 and 9030 Pro at the same time, unlocking next-level performance.
Huawei is now up with the Mate 90 series, which will continue to surprise us with the 2026 Kirin chip versions based on the LogicFolding design concept and the Tau Scaling Law.
