New Huawei Smart FTTR+X solution reshapes network with AI tech

Huawei has now launched a new-gen Smart FTTR+X Home Broadband AI network solution. It is based on open-source HarmonyOS and NearLink tech to ensure a seamless network connection throughout the home without any interruption.

FTTR refers to Fiber-to-the-Room technology. It is an advanced and super-efficient home networking solution that runs optical fiber directly into each room in the house.

It eliminates dead zones and consists of several invisible fibers to deliver a seamless, multi-gigabit, full-coverage, and low-latency internet experience for operations like gaming, remote work, multitasking, and HD streaming.

Now the new-gen Smart FTTR+X home network solution is jointly made by Huawei and China Telecom’s  Tianyi Digital. It reshapes the traditional home broadband into a smart home system with the use of artificial intelligence (AI).

As a result, the solution integrates connectivity, computing power, as well as smart applications. It is a revolutionary product in the AI era and qualified for the 2025 Outstanding Innovation Award.

FTTR+X comes with features like gigabit speeds, voice interaction, and AI-based computing power. It has an AI connection bus that offers 10-gigabit support, which turns on ultra-fast network configuration in 1 to 3 seconds.

On the other hand, the new-gen product has PON (Passive Optical Network) + Wi-Fi 7 and NearLink tech that makes it perfect for one broadband and narrowband network. It also reduces bottlenecks of complex IoT devices and fragmented experiences.

And the best part is, it runs on HarmonyOS, which allows a unified control and scenario-based linkage across different product segments to support interconnection for 115+ products. It can even sense Wi-Fi, 3D light, and user habits in real time.

Thus, it is a perfect home broadband product and offers an efficient user experience in all scenarios.
