Xiaomi 18 vanilla version has appeared in an unofficial render. This could also be an AI-generated image, speculating on the design of the upcoming flagship. But something more surprising about this image is its design that hints at an old idea.
A Weibo tipster has recently dropped an unofficial Xiaomi 18 render. The picture shows the device in white. It has a square camera bump on the upper left side and a bold XIAOMI branding at the bottom in silver tone.
Interestingly, the design resembles older iPhones‘ appearance. Before the iPhone 17 series that comes with a super-wide camera bar on the back, Apple used to embed a square lens module on the left side of its iPhone models.
From iPhone 11 to iPhone 16 series, Apple has maintained the signature square camera framework with slight changes to the rear panel or the rim surrounding the lens bump.
Looks like Xiaomi could adopt a similar appearance for its upcoming top-end lineup, particularly for the standard version. After replicating the iPhone 17 Pro’s camera style and name for its 2025 flagships, the firm may use years old formula.

Coming back to the design, the render shows three lenses on the camera bump. It can be the primary, ultrawide-angle, and telephoto sensors. The frame also has an LED Flash. All these sensors are arranged in the same way as in the iPhone 16 Pro.
The LEICA logo appears in the lower right corner of the camera module. The render shows smooth edges with volume rockers and a power button on the left side.
Whether the official Xiaomi 18 model’s appearance will be similar to this render or not is worth looking forward to.
