Huawei 5G smartphones lead to $127 billion revenue in 2025

2025 has been a crucial year for Huawei as it not only announced new 5G chips publicly but also launched more incredible smartphones that have led to 880 billion yuan ($127 billion) in revenue. That’s around 20 billion more than in 2024.

Howard Liang Hu, the President of Supply Chain and CFO of Huawei has recently attended the 2026 Guangdong High-Quality Development (Provincial Government) event.

During the conference, he delivered a keynote revealing the 2025 revenue of Huawei Technologies that became possible due to the launch of new 5G smartphones.

Liang stated that Huawei made $127 billion in revenue last year, which is higher than 2024. This progress eventually signals the OEM’s strength against the US ban.

Notably, 2024 Huawei revenue was 860 billion yuan. Whereas the new one is 880 billion yuan. It’s a new record after the company was hit by the US sanctions in 2019.

The highest-ever revenue record of the company was in 2020 – nearly 891 billion yuan. Hereafter, the US restricted Huawei on various matters, pushing it down in the smartphone market. Though the firm didn’t give up in any segment.

With constant efforts, Huawei re-introduced its 5G Kirin chips and has now reclaimed the first position in the Chinese smartphone market with 16.4% share. It defeated brands like Apple and now aims for a major global comeback.

Besides, the company has started expanding its self-developed operating system outside China through its smartwatches and tablets. Liang said:

“The company has maintained steady operations to provide globally competitive products and services. HarmonyOS has gained wider adoption. The number of devices running HarmonyOS 5 and the latest HarmonyOS 6 surpassed 40 million with over 75000 apps and services.”

Not only smartphones, but Huawei has integrated HarmonyOS into many segments like finance, power, energy, transport, and even telecoms. No doubt, these solutions have significantly contributed to the company’s 2025 revenue.

Huawei is now eying its AI growth using in-house Ascend chips. Over 43 AI LLMs are pre-trained on Ascend chips, while 200 open-source models are compatible with the Huawei AI semiconductor ecosystem. Lastly, the chief added that the company is welcoming more developers to join the HarmonyOS ecosystem.

“…pooling their industry-wide expertise to drive deep integration between technological and industrial innovation, which in turn would promote the convergence of the real and digital economies and achieve global win-win outcomes.”
