On March 3, Huawei and China Unicom launched a new plan at the MWC 2026 stage called “AI Renewal”. The co-created action strategy will target digital transformation of the country in terms of AI applications, services, and network elements.
Chen Hao, the President of Huawei Carrier Business, stated that both the company and China Unicom have pushed off the “AI Renewal” plan to fully advance their ALL Intelligence strategy in businesses and network areas.
AI Renewal will work on four core tracks: AI computing power, platform, models, and applications. Huawei will strengthen the supply of computing power and build an advanced computing resource pool with a three-tier architecture.
In addition, it will develop a full toolchain that will combine model deployment, inference acceleration, and support the efficient operation of the Yuanjing MaaS platform.
The AI Renewal will further help the parties to create several benchmarks in the industry to improve efficiency in public services, smart offices, and even AI teaching.
According to the details, Huawei and China Unicom aim to reform the cloud intelligence business with the help of AI Renewal. They target the promotion of cloud intelligence phones into personal AI assistants, supporting multi-turn dialogues, memory suggestions, and GUI calls.
Chen said:
“Huawei will support China Unicom in building its AI-native communication Uniclaw capabilities, such as creating call services + AI and AI + ringback tones, and achieving two-way noise reduction, AI function integration at the call entry point, and multimodal intelligent agent interaction.”
Overall, the company will fully support the construction of the Universe ecosystem open platform, helping China Unicom build an end-to-end AI capability system.
