Counterpoint has released the Q1 2026 global smartphone sales market report, where Honor has shown impressive performance. The company is seeing a hike of 25% year-over-year in terms of shipments alongside a positive annual growth rate.
Guan Haitao Thomas – Global Chief Marketing Officer at Honor, recently commented on the new Counterpoint report, saying that the firm saw a big win in Q1 2026.
Honor smartphone sales momentum has reached 25% YoY in the global market for Q1 2026. Besides, it is the only brand after Apple to witness positive growth.
The report highlights that while the entire global smartphone market went through a 6% year-on-year decline in the first quarter of 2026, Honor and the iPhone maker endorsed strong growth with an increase of 25% and 5% YoY, respectively.
Magic 8 series and the introduction of the ROBOT PHONE at the MWC26 event have helped the company to embrace new achievements in the global phone market.

For now, the OEM is preparing the Honor 600 series launch preparations and will unveil the epic “N Series Elevated” phones next week with several flagship upgrades.
Other Brands:
Apple has ranked first in this shipment race. The company owns 21% of the market share – all thanks to its amazing iPhone 17 series and the newly released iPhone 17e model, which is grabbing traction for its pocket-friendly price.
Samsung retains 20% market share with a 6% decline in shipments. The Xiaomi Technologies firm appears on the third rank with 12% market share – down from 14% and a 19% drop in its yearly smartphone shipments.
OPPO and Vivo ranked fourth and fifth, respectively. Counterpoint noted that the global smartphone market is under pressure for the time being due to the shortage of DRAM and NAND memory chips + weak demand. It would be interesting to see how the phone makers will deal with this challenge.
