Huawei MateBook Fold PC launched for commercial use with new OS

Huawei has now unveiled a new MateBook Fold PC variant for commercial use. It is an Enterprise Edition that debuted with the same design and specifications. The only difference lies in the operating system version of the folding computer.

MateBook Foldable PC stepped on the launch stage last year in May. It is the world’s first 18-inch folding notebook running on the Kirin X90 chipset and HarmonyOS PC OS.

In the latest scenario, Huawei has launched the MateBook Fold PC Enterprise Edition for commercial use. With this launch, the foldable notebook also gets the tag of the world’s largest “commercially available” folding screen laptop – with a catch.

According to the details, the Huawei MateBook Fold PC comes with the new HarmonyOS V1.0 software system instead of the latest PC OS version. This is a new general build of the HarmonyOS 6, but it includes new features for the enterprise customers.

Details reveal that the new HarmonyOS version for the MateBook Fold PC can unlock powerful platform capabilities and an open interface suite. It can build a more complete enterprise office function for the professional and enterprise variants.

  • Enterprise Device Management Kit
  • Data Protection Kit
  • Device Certification Kit

Further details state that HarmonyOS V1.0 has qualified for the highest level of security and reliability – Level II evaluation and certification. It is the first China-made computer OS to hit this grade.

MateBook Fold Enterprise Edition has a full-chain free control – from chip to operating system. Thus, it’s a perfect device for government and commercial office customers with high data security requirements.

The device also features dual-space mode, which allows flexible switching between intranet and extranet office operations. As a result, one can balance work efficiency with reduced data security risks.

Users can use its app and services right after receiving the device – thanks to its unified management and end-to-end cloud collaboration that facilitates centralized management and improves device efficiency and maintenance.
