Huawei Nova 16 series could feature Kirin 9030S chipset

Huawei Nova 16 series will likely debut with some prominent upgrades, and one of these changes can be its chipset. A new piece of information suggests that the upcoming mid-rangers could feature the Pura 90 Pro‘s flagship-grade mobile processor.

Nova 16 series is expected to go official on June 1st. Even though the OEM has not disclosed the launch date for this sub-flagship yet, teasers for other products hint that the new mid-rangers are coming next month.

In the meantime, some tipsters are constantly sharing the key details of the Nova 16 series. And the latest one brings insights into the SoCs of the phones.

As noted by the Weibo tipster @FixedFocus, the Huawei Nova 16 series might debut with the S-tagged Kirin chipset. The expected mobile SoCs include the Kirin 9010S and the 9030S.

Here, the standard model can use the Kirin 9010S chip, while the Pro and the new PRO MAX smartphone variants may step on the launch stage with the Kirin 9030S 5G mobile chip.

Even though the tipster assumed the chip details for the new Nova handsets, he also mentioned that it’s merely speculation, and the probability may turn out to be wrong. Hence, let’s take this input with a grain of salt.

For the chipsets, there is a chance that at least the standard Nova 16 may debut with Kirin 9010S 5G. Last year, Huawei used the same processor for the high-end variants of the Nova 15 series – Pro and Ultra.

Perhaps this year, the Kirin 9010S may debut with the Huawei Nova base model. Although things are uncertain for the Nova 16 Pro and Pro Max handsets.

Kirin 9030S has recently debuted with the high-end Pura 90 smartphone variants. Even though the core configuration of this mobile SoC is still under wraps, some of the key improvements are given below:
