Huawei Nova 16 series will enter the launch phase on June 1st, though its chip has become a focal point in the leaks section. After a recent rumor that the all-new Nova handsets can use Pura 90 Pro’s Kirin SoC, the latest input suggests that it’s not true at all!
Early inputs suggested that the Chinese tech giant may adopt the Kirin 9030S mobile processor for the Nova 16 Pro and Ultra variants. However, it looks like that’s not going to be the case.
Although the company may promote the Huawei Pura 90 Pro’s gradient design approach to the Nova 16 series. But the latest leak says otherwise for the Kirin chipsets.
Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation revealed that the Huawei Nova 16 series won’t bring the Pura 90 Pro’s Kirin chip. Instead, it could use an optimized Kirin 9010S chipset version for the entire new-generation mid-range lineup.

The company has used an optimized overclocked or downgraded version of an existing chip for its new devices many times. Perhaps it may use the same trick for the Nova 16 series handsets as well. To know more, we have to wait till June 1st.
Further, the tipster stated that the maximum battery capacity for the Nova 16 phones is around 7000mAh. Besides, the lineup could use a 200MP 1/1.28-inch super-large bottom main lens, a 50MP small periscope sensor, and a rear + front multispectral lens.
Adding more, the leak suggests that the Nova 16z will debut with a Kirin 8 series chipset to maintain the company’s price strategy in the smartphone segment. As per the tipster, the Nova 16 series can appear as a very competitive lineup in the mid-range market.
