Huawei seemingly has new MatePad tablets in the pipeline with ultra-narrow bezels and upgraded screen tech. The company will launch many incredible products in the second half of 2026, and one segment of this preparation belongs to the tablet line.
Weibo tipster @SmartPikachu has revealed that Huawei is working on new MatePad tablets with an upgraded screen tech. The company will probably launch these creations next month with a notable price increase.
As per the latest leak, Huawei will use an upgraded PaperMatte screen variant for all the forthcoming tablets. The respective solution is already a specialized, anti-glare display technology. It uses nano-level etching and circular polarization to scatter light.
The PaperMatte screen also cuts down reflections by up to 99% and reduces the glossy glare of standard display panels. At the same time, it offers a paper-like friction while using a stylus.

Being a matte-textured screen, it naturally prevents fingerprints and smudges as well as keeps the screen much cleaner compared to the traditional glass panels. It also supports professional eye protection capabilities + minimizes screen flickers.
Perhaps the company will further enhance the PaperMatte screen technology for the upcoming MatePad tablets. In addition, Huawei will focus on slimming the black borders surrounding the display panel.
MatePad Pro Max features the ultra-narrow screen bezel, measuring 3.5mm. It would be worth seeing if this figure drops further for the approaching models.
