New leak puts the Redmi K100 Pro battery at 8,000mAh (or higher)

Last week, Digital Chat Station posted a fairly detailed list of specs for the Redmi K100 Pro. Now the leakster has refined the details somewhat.

The biggest change is to the claimed battery stats – originally reported as being a 9,000mAh or bigger, the latest post from DCS says that the battery capacity will start with an 8. In other words, it will be between 8,000mAh and 9,000mAh.

This might still make it the biggest battery in the K-series yet, but it’s no longer certain. The Redmi K90 Max (there was no “K90 Pro”) has an 8,550mAh battery.

Anyway, the old post put the wired charging rate at 100W but didn’t mention wireless. The new post does – the Redmi K100 Pro will have 50W wireless charging.

The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The new post mentions a “dual-core platform”, which suggests an additional chip like the Xiaomi D2 that was found inside the Redmi K90 Max and K90 Pro Max. The D2 brought additional AI compute, which was used to improve the graphics sent to the screen.

Speaking of which, the K100 Pro will have a 185Hz display (games will likely need the help of the D2 or similar chip to hit that target). DCS calls it an “Ultra-clear display”, which is a term that Xiaomi uses for its gaming monitors and TVs, though we’re not entirely sure what it means.

As for the rest, the phone will have a 200MP main camera and a 50MP telephoto module capable of macro shots. It will have symmetrical stereo speakers and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. The body will be “fully waterproof” (presumably this means IP69) and will have an Apple-inspired design.

By the way, we’ve also seen leaks for the Redmi K100 Pro Max. It is supposed to have a 1/1.28” 200MP main camera and a 50MP periscope, plus the still-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset (vs. Gen 5 for the K100 Pro). We’re hearing worrying things about the pricing, though.
