Huawei HDC and Apple WWDC 2026 events will take place next month and it seems the two top brands will avoid a direct clash this year. Both tech makers usually stand against each other with their high-fy products. But it may not happen this time!
Apple WWDC refers to the Worldwide Developers Conference. It is an annual technology event where the company unveils new software iterations of iOS, macOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS. Sometimes, it also showcases new hardware.
On the other hand, HDC is the Huawei Developer Conference – again an annual event that removes the curtain from the new HarmonyOS version and AI advancements.
Last year, the Apple WWDC event was scheduled from June 9 to 13. Whereas the Huawei Developer Conference took place in late June from the 20th to the 22nd.
This year, the dates are slightly overlapping but not clashing directly. Official details reveal that Apple has set the WWDC 2026 event for June 8 to 12, whereas Huawei will host its annual developer conference (HDC) from June 12 to June 14.

As it is visible, the Chinese OEM will begin its show when the iPhone maker wraps up its things. Hence, it won’t be a clear-cut showdown this time, at least over software.
It is worth mentioning that in 2021 and before, Huawei used to host its HDC event in September-October. Some events even happened in August. Since 2024, the Chinese OEM has been conducting the conference in June to compete with Apple directly.
Moreover, the company even scheduled some of its flagship smartphones around the same time as Apple’s iPhone launches. It would be interesting to see if the upcoming Mate tri-foldable clashes with the iPhone 18 series and its first foldable device.
