Huawei is preparing 2026 Kirin chips for the upcoming flagship models, but it looks like these SoCs may go through a “shortage” challenge in the initial stock phase. A new rumor suggests that the company may continue to face a tight chip supply.
Tipster FixedFocus has revealed that Huawei Kirin 2026 chips production capacity in the initial stock is not sufficient, and the company may not open the respective chip sales on a large-scale.
If true, the limited 2026 Kirin mobile processor supply will also affect the production of the Mate 90 series smartphones, just as the previous-generation models.
Simply put, the Huawei Mate 90 series could see a shortage and therefore, interested buyers have to purchase the new-gen flagship as soon as it goes on official sale.

Huawei Mate 80 series smartphones also faced a similar situation for some time. The company launched the standard variant in the market while keeping the Pro Max and RS Ultimate out of the sales doors due to tight chip production.
In February this year, Huawei once again launched a 30-day pre-order plan for the high-end variants of the Mate 80 family. The move suggested that the company ramped up its chipset quantity, and things are going smoothly in its supply chain.
Being the first LogicFolding Architecture-based chipsets, the company could take some time to bring things at the right pace. Perhaps this is why the new leak speculates that the initial stock of the 2026 Kirin mobile SoCs will be limited.
