After the global recognition, the MatePad Pro Max is ready to make its way to the home market and it could be the first Huawei tablet to use a multispectral camera. Looks like the company is making the world’s thinnest tab even more of an interesting device.
Weibo tipster @FixedFocus reported that the Huawei MatePad Pro Max may debut in China with a multispectral camera. If true, it would be the first time that a tablet supports a color-filtered imaging sensor.
Multispectral camera in Huawei phones belongs to the Ultra Chroma family. It is an advanced imaging component that captures light across numerous color spectrums, including infrared, instead of just standard colors like Red, Green, and Blue.
The corresponding camera sensor uses a wide “multi-point” color approach. It significantly analyzes ambient lighting and reduces color casts and inaccurate color tones.
As a result, Huawei smartphone users get clearer skin tones, more natural fabric colors, and realistic landscapes with high accuracy and less post-processing editing.

It looks like the company is now planning to implement this camera solution into the MatePad Pro Max. While the global variant doesn’t hold any such sensor, Huawei may use it as a China-exclusive specification for the upcoming tablet.
Besides the multispectral camera, the Huawei MatePad Pro Max can also be the first tablet to feature NearLink Audio technology. It is a short-range wireless protocol used as a better alternative to Bluetooth.
The respective technology provides higher connectivity speed, lower latency, and up to 60% reduction in the power consumption. In addition, the tech can offer high-fidelity 24-bit/48kHz lossless audio with up to 16Mbps transmission rate for an ultra-stable and high-quality audio experience.
MatePad Pro Max will likely go official in China next month. Till then, we may get some more amazing revelations about this Chinese device variant.
