The upcoming Huawei Nova 16 series has already started making headlines, and one of the biggest talking points is its selfie camera. Recent information revealed that the company could bring back a 60MP front-facing lens for the sub-flagship lineup.
A well-known tipster @FixedFocus has shared prominent details about the Huawei Nova 16 series selfie camera. The particular section is said to undergo major changes.
Details reveal that the company will adopt a 60MP front camera for the Nova 16 series smartphones. It is planning to bring back a sensor that vanished with Nova 14.
Models like Nova 13 Pro, Nova 12 Pro/Ultra, and some other previous-gen devices used a 60MP front-facing camera. Though things changed with the Nova 14 and 15 series, which have come with a 50MP snapper and a close-up shooter.

Besides the selfie camera, the tipster suggested that Huawei will use a six-in-one small pixel merging technology. Also known as pixel binning, the tech combines data from six adjacent pixels into a single “super pixel”.
As a result, the respective method enables sensors with tiny pixels to mimic larger, more light-sensitive pixels, improving the overall image quality in low light conditions.
On the greener side, the pixel binning technology can address the limitation of having tiny, high-megapixel sensors by making them act like larger sensors when needed. Thus, it solves the issue of low light sensitivity in high-resolution photography.
Huawei Nova 16 series will likely debut by the end of this month or in early June. Till then, we’ll get more revelations about the new lineup. Stay tuned.
