Apple iPhone Fold still has time to make its way in the folding phone race, and before that, we have the first comparison leak of the Huawei Pura X Max and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 models regarding size. These leaked dimensions reveal the real “wide-fold” smartphone!
Following Huawei and Apple, Samsung began making headlines for having a wide foldable in the pipeline, and its dimensions have now leaked, showing what it has over the world’s first wide-fold champ – Pura X Max.
Ice Universe has recently shared the size comparison between the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Huawei Pura X Max. The dimensions and display width appear quite identical. But certain points in the chart define the real wide-foldable.
Starting with the key dimensions, the Huawei Pura X Max has 120 x 166.5 x 5.2mm in the unfolded state. It becomes 120 x 85 x 11.2mm when folded to fit in your pocket.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 can feature 123.9 x 161.4 x 4.3mm dimensions in the unfolded pattern, while 123.9 x 82.2 x 9.8mm when you fold it.
Thus, the overall result reveals that the Pura X Max is slightly wider than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, and eventually becomes the real wide-foldable champion.
But the official dimensions and size of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 are still under wraps!

Another major highlight here is the screen aspect ratio. Pura X Max’s cover display has a 4.4:3 aspect ratio, and its inner screen has a 4.24:3 aspect ratio. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 has a 4.7:3 aspect ratio for the external display and a 4:3 aspect ratio for the cover screen.
These aspect ratios make the Galaxy Z Fold 8 slightly narrower than Pura X Max, or we can say, it has somewhat the same screen ratios as the rumored Apple iPhone Fold.
Being a Samsung device, the company may give the Galaxy Z Fold 8 square, poky corners instead of curved ones as the Pura X Max has. Moreover, the leaked image shows that the South Korean OEM tried to thicken the vertical lens bump on the back.
