New Huawei Petal Maps beta update brings an issue to taxi service

Huawei is rolling out a new beta update for Petal Maps, and this version can impact the app’s taxi-hailing service. The application firmware is live on the AppGallery, and one can install the new version before the end of next month. But there’s a small catch!

According to the official information, Huawei Petal Maps is getting the new beta update with the HarmonyOS 5.9.2.303 version. Note that it’s a trial build number, and the company will push the stable version in the coming months.

Since the app’s beta update is already open on the Huawei AppGallery, users don’t have to click any kind of link to install the version or wait for an SMS confirmation.

The testing period for the corresponding Huawei application will remain live till May 28. All you have to do is head towards the AppGallery and download the new trial version.

Coming to the “catch” part, the new beta update for the Huawei Petal Maps can actually pause the taxi-hailing service. As per the details, the built-in feature temporarily shut down on April 28. Hence, you cannot use this feature for the time being.

Taxi-hailing service in Huawei Maps is an integrated service that enables users to book their rides directly via the respective application instead of using any third-party service. It offers seamless, in-app booking, driver-tracking, and fare calculation.

Details suggest that following some business strategy adjustments, the ride-hailing feature in the app is out of service at present. Perhaps a stable update will fix this problem.
