Looks like new smartwatches are on their way to hit the global stage this month. Following the Huawei Watch Fit 5 series global launch announcement, Xiaomi is now bringing a pocket-friendly wearable to the overseas market. The company has recently listed the device on its official website, showing its key features.
The new and pocket-friendly Xiaomi wearable is the Redmi Watch 6, coming soon to the global markets. The wearable debuted in China six months ago, and now the company has brought it outside its home turf for customers.
According to the details, Xiaomi has added the Redmi Watch 6 and its NFC variant on its global website. Here, the NFC variant will now exclusively support Mastercard and Visa tap-to-pay payment transactions.
Speaking of the design, the new wearables appear slightly similar to the new Huawei Watch FIT series. It follows the same Apple Watch-like look in Obsidian Black, Glacier Blue, and Silver Grey colors. Both models (standard and NFC) are crafted with aluminum alloy frames and TPU straps with a wrist fit of 135 to 205mm.

Redmi Watch 6 has a bigger AMOLED screen – 2.07-inch over the Watch Fit 5 series with 432 x 512 pixels resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a 2000nits peak brightness. It even excels in battery life, offering 24 days of full functioning with a 550mAh battery.
Now it would be interesting to see if the Redmi Watch 6 can give a strong competition to the Watch FIT 5 series in the global smartwatch market.
